Fitness Exercise

Proper exercise done regularly can really contribute greatly and is often the missing ingredient to the success of most people’s weight loss endeavors. There are 2 kinds of exercise categories and they are weight training and cardiovascular training. Both are important for both weight loss and overall good health.

One point to keep in mind is to not overdo the exercising both aerobics and strength training as that can be counter productive and will only weaken your immune system and make you susceptible to getting sick. Here are some fitness exercise tips to help you lose weight more quickly and keep it off:

Tip 1: Do aerobics three to five times a week

Aerobic exercise can be done in many different ways. Try to look for fun activities that you can do in order to get your aerobic exercise in like playing a sport like tennis or golf. Or you can go for a jog or a walk with a friend to keep you company and make things more enjoyable. It is still a good idea to carry some sort of fitness equipment at home as this will make working out much more convenient especially if the weather turns bad or you find yourself running short on time to drive to the gym and back.

If you suffer from back pain or bad knees then using an exercise machine like a recumbent exercise machine is great and will help you to get an effective workout without putting too much strain on your knees or back since you are seated in a supported position while doing the exercises.

When doing aerobics the idea is to stay active and your heartbeat around the 120-140 beats per minute range for 30 to 60 minutes. You should work up a decent sweat by the end of your workout and sweating is a sign that you are getting a good workout. However if you feel pain during any point then you should stop and consult a doctor to make sure it is safe to continue.

Tip 2: Weight train at least once a week

Training with weights helps to keep your muscles strong and also will build new muscle which will increase your metabolism and allow you to burn more calories without needing to exercise extra. It is not necessary to weight train too much, in fact once a week or even less frequent can be ideal depending on how much weight you lift. The more weight you lift the more rest you will need between workout sessions.

If you are a beginner to weight training then it is a good idea to take some personal training lessons to familiarize yourself with the workouts. Be sure to learn the bench press for the upper body and the leg press or squat for the lower body as these two exercises are very efficient to target the major muscles of the upper and lower body.
